INGRID
LOCKSTON [FRANCES BARBER)
Leader of the
Bleakridge Watch. Sharp, shrewd and cool headed. INGRID established
the Watch after her brother Frank was killed by a hit and run driver.
Committed to protecting her village and willing to do what is
necessary to achieve that.
ADRIAN
PECK [JOE SIMS)
Loud mouthed
and luckless. An empty vessel. ADRIAN is devoted to INGRID and hates
MUCH McALLISTER, who fired him from his job as a barman. ADRIAN is an
act first, think later, kind of guy. Makes him dangerous.
AZEEM
MEER [EMILIO DOORGASINGH)
Noble,
upstanding and friendly. AZEEM is the fussy owner of the hardware
store. Cheery and polite, he can be a little over formal. Currently
being blackmailed over his "darker appetites".
CECILY
HOPE [MARTYCRUICKSHANK)
CECILY is a
bit posh but a good egg if a little scatter-brained. Married to
FELIX. She joined the Watch to make new friends.
FELIX
HOPE [CLIVE SWIFT)
Similarly
upper class. Former civil servant, enjoying retirement after a
successful career in the Foreign Office. Dependable and decent. Fit
for his age, he is devoted to CECILY. Joined the Watch because FELIX
does his bit.
MAXINE
LOCKSTON [SARA POWELL)
Widow, single
mum and ANGUS COLTON's sister. MAXINE is a decent if troubled soul,
who tries to do the best for her daughter, TARA. Their relationship
has been strained since MAXINE's husband was killed. Works at her
friend BARBARA'S cafe and is secretly in a relationship with HENRY
MARSH. She knows HENRY is a poor choice but maybe, just maybe, they
could make it work. She doesn't know about his connection with her
late husband Frank's death...
TARA
LOCKSTON [PHOEBE CAMPBELL)
MAXINE's
daughter. A spookily confident and well-adjusted girl despite losing
her dad in tragic circumstances. Doesn't get on well with her mum but
utterly adores her capable aunt, INGRID. About to start university.
HENRY
MARSH [SAM TROUGHTON)
Handsome and
charming, HENRY is a "some-time" builder who does some
poaching on the side with his brother JENSEN. HENRY was the village
stud until he fell for MAXINE. Now, he wants to settle down and build
a life with her. However, his brother JENSEN resents the relationship
and know a secret that could sink it.
JENSEN
MARSH [JAMES ATHERTON)
Younger
brother of HENRY MARSH, the unemployed JENSEN is a reckless soul.
Thinks the life he and his brother have is perfect. No need for
things to change. JENSEN is jealous of HENRY's new relationship with
MAXINE and fears HENRY leaving.
LENA
FERERRA [KATY CAVANAGH)
Brassy and
warm. Runs The Gallows pub with her partner MITCH McALLISTER. Devoted
to her husband MITCH but turns to her old work to help make things
meet. LENA is a secret Dominatrix.
MITCH
MCALLISTER [NEIL MORRISSEY)
Owner of The
Gallows pub, MITCH is not in LENA's league. He's trying to keep his
pub afloat. He's being pushed to breaking point by the Watch and
their constant interfering.
DUNCAN
WALTON [PHILIP BIRD)
Gallant,
erudite and refined. DUNCAN is a retired GP who now helps his wife
BARBARA run her award-winning community cafe. However, we'll come to
learn that DUNCAN is not quite the man BARBARA thinks he is.
BARBARA
WALTON [VICKI PEPPERDINE)
DUN CAN's
devoted wife, best friend to MAXINE. A former dinner lady, BARBARA is
a smart and knowing woman, she has a calm air and loves her husband.
Looks like a nice lady who runs a tea room but underneath is a woman
whose loyalties have driven her to extremes her nearest and dearest
know nothing about.
